DOC area for white and red wines in the Italian region of Tuscany. The zone covers 250 hectares in the municipalities of Casale Marittimo, Castellina Marittima, Guardistallo, Montecatini Val di Cecina, Montescudaio, Riparbella and Santa Luce in the province of Pisa. The wine types Bianco and Vin Santo are produced from Trebbiano Toscano (max. 50%) and other authorised varieties (max. 50%). Rosso is produced from Sangiovese (max. 50%) and other authorised varieties (max. 50%). The single-varietal wines must consist of at least 85% of the respective variety, the rest can be other varieties. The four red wines are Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. The three white wines are Chardonnay, Sauvignon (Sauvignon Blanc) and Vermentino. There is also a longer-aged Riserva of all the red wines.
