The winery is located in the municipality of Rhodt unter Rietburg (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. The traditional family has been growing grapes here since 1702. The foundation stone for today's business was laid by Karl Hermann Meyer in 1954. After his training as a viticultural technician and practical stays in Austria and California, it has been run by Stefan Meyer since 2010.

The vineyards cover 16 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Klosterpfad, Rosengarten and Schlossberg (Rhodt), as well as Schwarzer Letten (Edenkoben). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Syrah. The vineyards are cultivated in a natural and sustainable way. This includes fertilisation with compost, cover crop and no herbicides.
