Huge plateau landscape in the interior of the Iberian Peninsula, which is cut through by the three rivers Duero, Tajo and Guadiana. The Meseta forms the centre of Spain, with the Sierra de Guadarrama and Serranía de Cuenca mountain ranges dividing the area into two halves with the regions of Extremadura, Castile-León and Castile-La Mancha. The capital Madrid is located in the north-east. The extreme climate is characterised by scorching hot summers and cold winters. Huge quantities of wine are produced here in the DO areas of La Mancha, Méntrida, Ribera del Guadiana, Valdepeñas and Vinos de Madrid.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
