The "Anselmo Mendes Vinhos" winery is located in the municipality of Melgaço in the Vinho Verde area of Portugal. It was founded in 1998 by Anselmo Mendes (agricultural studies and diploma in oenology). The vineyards cover 60 hectares of vineyards with a planned expansion to 100 hectares. The white wine varieties Alvarinho (main variety), Avesso and Loureiro, and the red wine varieties Alvarelhão, Cainho Miúdo(Amaral), Pedral and Vinhão are cultivated. The natural cultivation is carried out according to the rules of sustainability. All wines are produced as DOC Vinho Verde. Premium wines are the white wines "Parcela Única" (matured for 9 months), "Curtimenta" (matured for 9 months) and "Expressões" (matured for 7 months), which are 100% pure white wines made from Alvarinho, macerated and matured in French barriques. Around 700,000 bottles of wine are produced annually, which are exported to Sweden, Belgium, England, Brazil and other countries.
