DOC area for red wine and white wine in the Italian region of Calabria. The zone completely covers the municipalities of Belvedere di Spinello, Carfizzi, Melissa, San Nicola dell'Alto and Umbriatico, and parts of the municipalities of Casabona, Castelsilano, Crotone, Pallagorio, Rocca di Neto, San Mauro Marchesato, Santa Severina, Scandale and Strongoli in the province of Crotone. The Bianco is made from Greco Bianco (80-95%), and Trebbiano Toscano and/or Malvasia Bianca = Malvasia Bianca di Candia (5-25%). The Rosso (also known as Superiore) is blended from Gaglioppo (75-95%), as well as any mixture or use of Greco Nero (?), Greco Bianco, Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia Bianca (5-25%).
