The red grape variety is an interspecific new variety between C 484 (Madeleine Angevine x Chasselas Musque x C 128 (Ichkimar x Yanvarskii x Chernyi). It contains genes from Vitis amurensis and Vitis vinifera. Synonyms are Meghrabuyr, Megrabouir, Megrabur and Megrabuyr. The hybrid was crossed in 1960 by the breeder S. A. Pogosyan. The vine is extremely frost-resistant to minus 28 °Celsius. It produces light red wines, which are mainly used for sweet dessert wines. The variety is mainly cultivated in the West Armenian region of Armavir. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (statistics Kym Anderson).
