The white grape variety is a new variety between Chaush Rozovyi (Çavuş Pembe) x Kishmish Chernyi. Synonyms are Mecita, Mecta, Nadejda and Nadezhda. The cross was made in 1959 in Ukraine by the breeder S. A. Melnik. It is used as table grape. In 2016, 19 hectares of vineyards were designated in Moldova (Kym Anderson).
