DOC area for red wine and rosé wine in the Italian region of Puglia. The zone includes the entire eponymous municipality of Matino, as well as parts of the municipalities of Alezio, Casarano, Gallipoli, Melissano, Parabita, Taviano and Tuglie in the "Murge Salentino" area of the Salento peninsula (the "heel of the boot") in the province of Lecce. Rosso and Rosato wines are made from Negroamaro (70%), Sangiovese and Malvasia Nera di Brindisi (max. 30%).
