The white grape variety comes from Italy. It is named after the municipality of the same name in the Apulian province of Taranto. This high-yielding vine produces an acidic white wine. It is cultivated in small quantities in the Apulia region in the provinces of Bari and Taranto. In 2016, however, no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
