Maroucho

The red grape variety (also Marouxos) originates from Cyprus. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. The endangered variety was rediscovered by the Cypriot oenologist Akis Zambartas in an old vineyard of the Marouchos winery in Panayia, from which the name is derived. In 2016, no stock was recorded (Kym Anderson).
