The winery is located in the municipality of Göttlesbrunn in the Lower Austrian wine region of Carnuntum. It was founded in 1950 by Johann and Katharina Markowitsch under the name "Marko's Weine" as a trading company with its own vineyards. From 1975 on it was managed by Hans Markowitsch and his wife Monika. Since 1998 it has been managed in the third family generation by Lukas Markowitsch, supported by his brother Johann. Lukas Markowitsch previously gained experience on study trips through France, Italy, California, Australia and New Zealand. The vineyards comprise 14 hectares of vineyards in the areas Altenberg, Eisenbacher, Hagelsberg, Haidacker, Kräften, Rosenberg, Schüttenberg, Stuhlwerker and Zwiering.
