The winery is located in the municipality of Heitersheim (Markgräflerland area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. The family has been involved in winegrowing for five generations. After studying oenology in Geisenheim, Klaus-Martin Marget founded a small sparkling wine cellar in 1989 and took over a winery in 1996. The vineyards cover around seven hectares of vines in the Schlossgarten (Hügelheim) and Maltesergarten (Heitersheim) single vineyard sites. They are planted with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Merlot, Regent and Cabernet Dorsa, as well as with the white wine varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chasselas and Nobling. The vineyards are cultivated close to nature with cover crop by sowing grasses, rape, clover and mallow. Quality-enhancing measures include careful foliage management and yield reduction through thinning.
