Marckrain

One of the Alsace (Haut-Rhin) sites classified as Grand Cru within the Alsace Grand Cru appellation. The "Estate of Beno" (Bennwihr) has been documented since 777. The vineyards cover 54 hectares of vines on limestone marl soil in the two communes of Bennwihr and Sigolsheim. They are mainly planted with Gewürztraminer and some Pinot Gris. René Barth and Les Caves de Bennwihr are well-known producers.
