Mandelhöhe

Riede (also Mandel-Höh, Mandelhöh) in the municipality of Traiskirchen in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Thermenregion. The Urbanus Chapel, Traiskirchen's landmark, is also located on the 256-metre-high mountain of the same name. The south-southeast facing vineyards with a 25% slope are located near a railway tunnel. They have deep, slightly calcareous brown earth soils, which are partly interspersed with stones. The white wine varieties Neuburger and Zierfandler thrive here. The Schaflerhof and Stadlmann Johann wineries, for example, have shares in the vineyard.
