The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Malvasia Rossa and Malvazija Crvena. It is a somatic mutation with reddish berries of the white variety Malvasia di Candia Aromatica. The variety is used as a winepress and table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics). However, Malvasia Rosa is also a synonym for the grape varieties Frühroter Veltliner and Malvasia di Schierano.
