Synonyms are Malvasia Negra, Malvasia Nera, Malvasia Nera di Bari, Malvasia Nera di Bitonto, Malvasia Nera di Lecce, Malvasia Nera di Trani and Malvasia Niura. It is one of the numerous mostly unrelated varieties with the name part Malvasia (see there).
