Malvasia Nera di Bolzano

The red grape variety originates from Italy. It is one of the numerous mostly unrelated varieties with the name part Malvasia (see in detail there). According to DNA analyses carried out in 2010, it is a presumably natural cross between Perera Gialla (Perera) x Schiava Gentile. However, a new analysis in 2021 did not confirm the father variety Schiava Gentile (it is unknown). No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
