Malvasia Nera di Bolzano

The red grape variety originates from Italy. It is one of the numerous mostly unrelated varieties with the name part Malvasia (see in detail there). According to DNA analyses carried out in 2010, it is a presumably natural cross between Perera Gialla (Perera) x Schiava Gentile. However, the variety is not important in terms of quantity; no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
