Malamatina

The winery with its headquarters in Thessaloniki in the Greek region of Macedonia was founded in 1922 by Konstantinos Malamatinas in Alexandroupolis. It produces the world's most famous resin wine Retsina, which is bottled in 0.25 and 0.5 litre bottles with crown caps. The significant yellow-green label of "Retsina Malamatina" shows the wine-drinking keyboy, whose belly is opened by a key. The wine has an alcohol content of 11% vol. and is mainly produced in the growing region of Euboea in central Greece from the grape varieties Roditis and Savatiano. According to its own statement, the company's turnover in 2006 amounted to 28.170 million euros and represented a net profit of 6.085 million euros. In Greece the wine has a market share of 60%, in Northern Greece 92%.
