Maiskii Chernyi

The red grape variety originates from Moldova. Synonyms are German Black, Majskij Chernyj, Majszky Csornij, May's Black Grape, Mayskiy, Mayskiy Chernyi, Noir de Maisky, Prokupats, Qara May Uezuemue and Zarchin. Nothing is known about the parentage and a possible genetic relationship to the variety Prokupac (with synonym Prokupats). In 2016, 110 hectares were designated in Kazakhstan (statistics Kym Anderson).
