Maiden Harvest

Designation for the first grape harvest after planting a vine (young planting), although for quality reasons this is only done after three to five years at the earliest Until then, the vines are pruned more frequently in the first few years in order not to burden the plants with too high yields. The first wine is called virgin wine.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
