The red grape variety is a new variety between Muscat Bouschet x Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch). Synonyms are Madar Frankos and Magyar Frankos. The crossbreeding was done in Hungary in 1953 by the two breeders Pál Kozma and József Tusnádi. The plant variety protection was granted in 1974. The late-ripening, high-yielding vine is resistant to winter frost, but susceptible to botrytis. It produces dark red wines. The variety is cultivated in the central-northern area of Mátraalja. In 2016, a stock of 0.3 hectares was declared (statistics Kym Anderson).
