The red grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Rúbea x Traviu. Synonyms or breeding no. are BRS Magna and CNPUV 773-319, with genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in Brazil in 1999. The red wines had a foxtone. In 2016, 30 hectares of vineyards were designated (Kym Anderson).
