Louisette

The white grape variety (also known as Beutelriesling) is a new breed between Riesling x Précoce de Malingre. According to 2013 DNA analyses, the listed breeding parent as father variety Courtiller Musqué (Muscat Précoce de Saumur) is incorrect. This is based on only 20 DNA markers (see molecular genetics for more information). The crossbreeding was conducted by Christian Oberlin (1831-1915) in Colmar (Alsace, France). No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
