The winery is located in the municipality of Erden (Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle wine region. The family has been growing wine for several generations. A guest house is attached. The business is managed by Klaus Lotz, who is trained as a master winemaker. The vineyards cover 5.5 hectares of vineyards in the mostly steep slopes of Bußlay, Herrenberg and Treppchen (Erden), as well as Försterlay (Lösnich). They are mainly planted with Riesling, as well as the varieties Kerner, Müller-Thurgau, Dornfelder and Spätburgunder. The aim is to produce excellent wines with lots of fruit - and above all with unmistakable slate minerality. In suitable years, noble sweet Trockenbeerenauslese and ice wines are also pressed. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, noble brandies (yeast, marc) and liqueurs (peach, grapes) are also produced.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
