López Hermanos

Producer description of "Bodegas Malaga Virgen SA (López Hermanos, S.A.)"
Leading bodega in the city of Malaga in the Spanish region of Andalusia. It was founded in 1885 by Salvador and Francisco López López. They were called "Liones" (lions), which is why the bodega is also known by this name. Today, it is managed in the third generation of the family by Rafael and Juan Ignacio de Burgos López. The vineyards cover 250 hectares. There are 6,000 American oak barrels available for ageing. The most famous Malaga brands are Cartojal Pale Cream (Moscatel), Moscatel Iberia (Moscatel), Trajinero (Pedro Ximénez) and Virgin (Pedro Ximénez). A "Brandy Gran Reserva 1885" is also produced.
