The winery is located in the wine town of Langenlois in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal. It was taken over by Fred Loimer from his parents in 1998. His passion for the vinification of outstanding wines has earned him the nickname "quality maniac". The new winery, completed in 1999, caused a sensation in the wine and architecture scene. The 800 m² brick vaulted cellar from former noble ownership lies under the new building, which resembles a black monolith. The estate's own vineyards cover 60 hectares of different terroirs in the Dechant, Käferberg, Seeberg, Spiegel, Steinmassl and Heiligenstein vineyards. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (60%), Riesling, Chardonnay, Muskateller and Pinot Gris, as well as the red wine varieties Zweigelt and Pinot Noir. Certified biodynamic viticulture is practised according to the rules of the respekt-BIODYN association.
The Wine lexicon helps me to keep up to date and refresh my knowledge. Thank you for this Lexicon that will never end in terms of topicality! That's what makes it so exciting to come back often.
