The winery is located in the municipality of San Giovanni al Natisone (province of Udine) in the Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The large family business was founded in 1964 by Dorino Livon, who bought the first vineyards. In the 1980s, the sons Dorino Valneo and Tonino joined the company. In the meantime, there are five wineries, the vineyards cover a total of 226 hectares of vines, of which the vineyards in the main estate cover 85 hectares. They are planted with the white wine varieties Friulano(Sauvignonasse), Ribolla Gialla, Verduzzo Friulano, Moscato Giallo, Picolit Bianco, Malvasia Istriana(Malvazija Istarska), Traminer Aromatico(Gewürztraminer), Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio(Pinot Gris), Pinot Blanc, Muller Thurgau(Müller-Thurgau), and the red wine varieties Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Schioppettino, Pignolo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The wines are produced in three lines. The Classica line is aged in stainless steel. The grapes for the top lines Cru and Gran Cru come from the best sites and are matured in stainless steel and barrique. The product range includes DOC Collio and IGT Venezia Giulia. Around 600,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
The other four wineries are RoncAlto with 8 ha in the DOC area Collio and Villa Chiòpris with 96 ha in the DOC area Friuli Grave (Friuli), as well as Borgo Salcetino with 18 ha in the DOCG area Chianti-Classico (Tuscany) and ColSanto with 19 ha in the DOCG area Montefalco Sagrantino (Umbria). A total of over 500,000 bottles of wine are produced here.
