Liesenpfennig

Historical vineyard in the park of the former Austrian imperial residence Schönbrunn Palace in the 13th district of Hietzing in Vienna. It was planted in 1753, but fell into oblivion at the end of the 19th century. In 2009, the Vienna Winegrowers' Association (Winzervereinigung WienWein ), in cooperation with Schönbrunn Palace, replanted the vineyard with around 500 vines of the following varieties: Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Welschriesling, Neuburger, Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Zierfandler and Rotgipfler. The areas are alternately cultivated and managed by the winegrowers. The Viennese Gemischter Satz produced from them is sold in an online auction; the main part of the proceeds goes to the SOS Children's Villages.
