The red grape variety (also Levokumskij) originates from Russia. It is named after a district of the Krasnodar region in the extreme southwest in the foothills of the Caucasus. The parentage is unknown. The vine is frost-resistant to minus 27 °Celsius, resistant to fungal diseases such as botrytis, powdery and downy mildew, and also to phylloxera. It produces simple wines. The Dorte is grown in the Russian areas of Krasnodar Krai and Rostov Oblast. In 2016, 890 hectares of vines were reported in Russia (Kym Anderson statistics).
