The Moser family is one of the most traditional winegrowing families in Austria; the family history dates back to the 12th century. The ancestral home is located in Rohrendorf near Krems. Several family members have earned special merits in viticulture. Particularly noteworthy is Prof. Dr. h.c. Laurenz Moser III (1905-1978), the founder of the high culture form of education, which is also called "Moser culture" as a tribute to him.
