The winery is located in the municipality of Deinzendorf near Retz in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Weinviertel. Viticulture has been practised in this traditional family since 1516. Today, the estate is run by Wilhelm and Waltraud Laurer and their son Markus. The vineyards cover 16 hectares in the Altenberg, Junge Bergen, Mittelberg, Schluchten and Schrattenbach vineyards. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (7 ha), Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Welschriesling, Chardonnay and Bouvier, as well as with the red wine varieties Blauer Portugieser, Zweigelt, Blauburger and Merlot. Natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is consistently practised. The quality criteria in the vineyard include quantity reduction and careful hand harvesting. The premium wines include, for example, various Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner), Chardonnay Mittelberg, Zweigelt Reserve and Zweigelt Classic. Fine brandies and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. In suitable years, straw wines and ice wines are also pressed.
