The winery is located in the municipality of Saulheim (Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. It is owned by master winemaker Bernd Landgraf and his wife Johanna. Son Dipl. Ing. Andre Landgraf has been responsible for the cellar since 2006 after studying viticulture and oenology and practising in South Africa. The vineyards cover 16 hectares of vines in the Saulheim single vineyard sites Haubenberg, Hölle, Heiligenhaus and Schlossberg. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Portugieser, Dornfelder, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The vineyards are cultivated in a natural, environmentally friendly way, for example without the use of synthetic chemical pesticides and fertilisers. Fermentation is carried out with natural yeasts and no fining agents are used. The wines are marketed as estate wines, local wines and site wines. Sparkling wines and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The winery is a member of the Message in a Bottle winegrowers' association.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
