The winery is located in Erbach, a district of Eltville in the German wine-growing region Rheingau. It was created in 1947 from the Lamm and Jung wineries through the marriage of Anna Maria Lamm and Christoph Jung. At that time it was still a classic mixed farm with fruit and wine growing. Josef Jung began to specialize in wine in the 1970s. Since 1996, the farm has been managed by Andreas Jung. The vineyards cover eight hectares of vineyards in the Hohenrain, Honigberg, Michelmark and Steinmorgen (Erbach), as well as Sandgrub (Kiedrich) sites. They are planted with 80% Riesling and 20% Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Noir. Environmentally friendly viticulture is consistently practiced with cover crop the vines are cultivated in rows, insecticides are not used, pheromones are used to combat grape berry moths, and organic-mineral fertilizers are applied as needed.
