The winery is located in the municipality of Durbach (Ortenau area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. The family has been growing grapes since 1672. Today, Andreas Laible, together with his wife Ingrid and his two sons Andreas and Alexander, successfully continues this long tradition. The vineyards cover seven hectares, six of which are in the best area of the renowned single vineyard Plauelrain (Durbach). They are planted with the varieties Riesling (4 ha), Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Scheurebe, Chardonnay and Müller-Thurgau. Over a dozen clones are used, including old ones from France and Croatia, as well as own selections. The preservation of the grape's own aromas in the wines has top priority. For this reason, fermentation takes place exclusively in steel tanks, if possible only with natural yeasts. The winery is a member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates).
