Riede (Lage) in the municipality of Langenlois in the Lower Austrian wine growing region of Kamptal. The vineyard, which is oriented as a wind-protected hollow, has a special microclimate. It is characterised by strongly changing soil types with partly sandy, clayey loam and slate incisions (Gföhler gneiss) reaching almost to the surface. The cohesive soil has a very good water storage capacity and ensures an optimal water supply during the vegetation cycle. Here, mainly the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Chardonnay are cultivated. The Bründlmayer Willi, Jurtschitsch and Nastl Günter wineries, for example, have shares in the reed.
