DOC area (also Lacrima di Morro) for red wine in the Italian Marche region. It was introduced in 1985 to save the grape variety of the same name from extinction. The zone's vineyards cover 130 hectares of vineyards in the hilly areas of the municipalities of Belvedere Ostrense, Monte San Vito, Morro d'Alba, Ostra, San Marcello and Senigallia overlooking the sea in the province of Ancona. The wine is made from Lacrima di Morro d'Alba (85%), as well as other authorised varieties (max. 15%). There is also a passito of dried grapes and a Superiore with a higher alcohol content.
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
