Lacrima di Maria

The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Acrime Madonna, Lacrima Bianca di Maria, Lacrima della Madonna, Lacrima di Madonna, Lacrime della Madonna, Lacryma di Maria and Larmi di Maria. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2021, it originates from a presumably natural cross between Graeco x Heptakilo (Axina de Tres Bias). However, the parent variety was not confirmed in a further DNA analysis (unknown). It should not be confused with other Lacrima varieties due to some of the same synonyms or morphological similarities. The vine is mainly used as table grape No stock was recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
