The winery is located in the municipality of Esslingen (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. It is owned by Hans and Monika Kusterer. Worth mentioning is the medieval wine press building from the 14th century (1347), which was acquired by the family in 1991 in a badly dilapidated state and restored by 1994. Since then, events of various kinds have often taken place here. The vineyards cover five hectares of vineyards in the terraced single vineyards Schenkenberg (with 47 plots) and Neckarhalde (both Esslingen), which has been in monopoly ownership since April 2007. They are planted with the red wine varieties Trollinger, Lemberger, Samtrot, Spätburgunder, Blauer Portugieser, Dornfelder, Zweigelt and Merlot, as well as the white wine varieties Riesling and Grauburgunder. By promoting the natural enemies of vine pests, we support healthy flora and fauna in the vineyard, thereby obtaining a healthier crop and thus better quality wines. The vinification is based on classical methods such as mash fermentation with a long standing time. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble brandies (grape, wine) are also produced.
