The winery is located in the municipality of Esslingen (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine growing region of Württemberg
. It is owned by Hans and Monika Kusterer. Worth mentioning is the medieval wine press building from the 14th century (1347), which was acquired by the family in 1991 in a heavily dilapidated condition and was repaired until 1994. Since then, events of various kinds have been held here quite often. The vineyards comprise five hectares of vineyards in the terraced individual sites Schenkenberg
(with 47 plots) and the Neckarhalde
(both Esslingen), which has been in monopoly possession since April 2007. They are planted with the red wine varieties Trollinger, Lemberger, Samtrot, Pinot Noir, Blauer Portugieser, Dornfelder, Zweigelt and Merlot, as well as the white wine varieties Riesling and Pinot Gris. By encouraging the natural enemies of the vine pests, a healthy flora and fauna in the vineyard is supported, in order to obtain a healthier harvest and thus better quality wines. During vinification, classic methods such as maceration with a long standing time are used. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble brandies (grape, wine) are also produced.
