The white grape variety comes from Croatia. Synonyms are Kojundzusa, Kujundzusa Bela, Kujundzusa Bijela, Kujundzusa Zuta, Tvrdac, Zutac and Zutka. It must not be confused with the Škrlet variety due to morphological similarities. The origin (parentage) is unknown. The medium to late-maturing vine is quite resistant to vine diseases. It yields rather light-alcohol white wines. The variety is mainly grown in the Imotski area in the Dalmatian hinterland near the border to Bosnia-Herzegovina. The area under cultivation in 2010 was 206 hectares (statistics Kym Anderson).

In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
