The red grape variety is an interspecific new variety; however, its parentage is unknown. It was named after a river in the North Caucasus. The hybrid was crossed in Russia. The variety is mainly used as table grape. It is cultivated in Moldova. In 2016, 32 hectares of vineyards were designated (Kym Anderson statistics).
