The "Winzerhof Herbert Kreimel" is located in the municipality of St. Andrä an der Traisen (Herzogenburg) in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Traisental. At the beginning of the 1990s, Herbert Kreimel took over the mixed agricultural business. After a course in wine management and practical work at the F. X. Pichler winery, he devoted himself increasingly to quality viticulture. The vineyards cover three hectares in the Hennebühel, St. Andräer Kellerberg and Thal vineyards. 80% of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (60%), Riesling (25%) and Pinot Bl anc, and 20% with the red wine varieties Blauer Portugieser, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, St. Laur ent and Blaufränkisch. After whole cluster pressing, the white wines are matured in stainless steel tanks. The red wines mature between 16 and 32 months in barrique barrels. The premium wines include Grüner Veltliner from the terraces, Rheinriesling Quarz and the red wine cuvée Hennebühel Grande Reserve.
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
