The winery is located in the municipality of Brauneberg (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. The family has been growing grapes since 1475. Today, the estate is run by Gerti and Josef Kranz. A guesthouse is attached. The vineyards cover 5.5 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Juffer, Juffer Sonnenuhr and Klostergarten. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Dornfelder. After gentle grape processing and controlled fermentation, the wines are matured in oak barrels. All wines are estate bottlings of the house. In suitable years, noble sweet Trockenbeerenauslesen and ice wines are also pressed. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble brandies (marc, grapes, fruit) are also produced.
