The white grape variety (also Schandl Karoly and Schandl) is a new variety between Muscat d'Hamburg x Chasselas Fontainebleau (Chasselas). It was named after the Hungarian politician and son of the freedom hero Lajos Kossuth. It was crossed in Hungary by János Mathiász (1838-1921). It is used as table grape
