The red grape variety comes from Greece. Synonyms are Corfiatico, Corfiatis, Korfiatico, Korfiatiko, Korfiatis, Korphiates, Korphiatico and Korphiatis. It was formerly cultivated in the Ionian Islands. In the Greek vine database it is described as identical to the variety Kotsifali.
