The white grape variety originates from Greece. Some of the approximately 40 synonyms indicate a wide distribution. These include Asprokorintho, Asprokoritho, Baresan, Baresana, Baresana Bianca, Baressana, Corithi Blanc, Korinka Belaya, Korithi Lefko, Korithi Leyko, Lattuario Bianco, Osmanca, Turca Bianca, Uva Rosa and White Tokay. The parentage (parentage) is unknown. According to DNA analyses, it is a parent of the Tsaoussi variety, which was probably created by natural crossing. Nothing is known about a possible connection to the red variety Mavro (Korithi Mavro). The vine is also used as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
