The winery is located in the municipality of Fels am Wagram in the Lower Austrian wine growing region of Wagram. It was founded in 1964 by Horst and Marianne Kolkmann. Today it is managed in the third generation by Horst and Gerhard Kolkmann. Dipl.-Ing. Sebastian Blümig is responsible for the cellar technology. The vineyards comprise 35 hectares of vineyards in the Brunnthal, Diebstein, Essenthal, Fumberg, Welfel and Zeisleiten areas. They are planted to 60% with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Rivaner, Roter Veltliner, Frühroter Veltliner, Gelber Muskateller and Sämling 88, and 40% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Blauer Portugieser, St. Laurent and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The cultivation is carried out according to the principles of organic viticulture. This includes year-round greening and the avoidance of chemical fertilizers. The wines are vinified according to their origin and variety. The white wines are matured at a controlled temperature in stainless steel, a Roter Veltliner as a speciality in 500 litre oak barrels. The red wines mature in barriques. Special attention is paid to Grüner Veltliner with different varieties. Among the premium wines are the Grüner Veltliner "Brunnthal" and "Lössmann", as well as the red wine Zweigelt Reserve. In years with suitable weather conditions an ice wine is also pressed. Red wine liqueur, Rosé Secco (sparkling wine), vinegar and noble brandy (pear, apricot) are also produced. The winery is a member of the Wagramer Selektion winegrowers' association (whose chairman Horst Kolkmann was until 2005).
