The winery is located in the municipality of Fels am Wagram in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wagram. It was founded in 1964 by Horst and Marianne Kolkmann. Today it is run by the third generation, Horst and Gerhard Kolkmann, and Dipl.-Ing. Sebastian Blümig is responsible for the cellar technology. The vineyards cover 35 hectares in the Brunnthal, Diebstein, Essenthal, Fumberg, Welfel and Zeisleiten vineyards. They are 60% planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Rivaner, Roter Veltliner, Frühroter Veltliner, Gelber Muskateller and Sämling 88, and 40% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blauburgunder, Blauer Portugieser, St. Laurent and Cabernet Sauvignon.
