The Königshof winery is located in Boppard in the German wine-growing region of the Middle Rhine. The name of the winery goes back to a medieval farm on whose ruins parts of the winery buildings stand today. The seven hectares of vineyards, which have been in the family for generations, are now farmed by Elisabeth Ries and Reinhard Gräf. Riesling is the main grape variety in the Feuerlay, Mandelstein and Ohlenberg (Bopparder Hamm) sites. The fine fruity wines, characterised by the slate soil, are mainly marketed in the family-run Baudobriga Rheinhotel (Baudobriga is the Roman-Celtic name of Boppard) with a cosy wine tavern and beautiful balcony guest rooms with a wonderful view of the Rhine.
