The red grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Moldova x Marschalskij. Synonyms are Black Magic, Codreanca, Kodrianka, Kodrianka Kernarm and Kodryanka. Genes from Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera are included. The hybrid was crossed by the breeder M. S. Borzikova in Moldova. It is also used as table grape. In 2016, 1,143 hectares of vineyards were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
