Producer description of "Weingut Knauß"

The winery is located in the municipality of Strümpfelbach (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine-growing region of . After many years of membership in the winegrowers' cooperative, the wines have been pressed and marketed by the estate itself since 1995. The "Sonna-Besa" wine tavern is attached. The business is run by the Knauß family, with Andreas Knauß as cellar master. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyards Altenberg and Nonnenberg (Strümpfelbach), Steinacker (Lehrensteinsfeld), as well as in the three communities of Beutelsbach, Endersbach and Schnait. Two thirds of the vineyards are planted with the red wine varieties Trollinger, Lemberger, Pinot Noir and Merlot, and one third with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyards are cultivated in a natural, environmentally friendly way.
