Kishmish Chernyi

The red grape variety originates from Azerbaijan. Synonyms are Bajatur, Black Kishmish, Black Monucca, Chouvagrani, Kara Kishmish, Kichmich Sio, Kismish Ali, Kish Mish Negru Oval, Kishmish Siah, Kishmish Sie, Kishmish Sio, Kishmishi Chernyj, Kishmishy Black, Qara Kismis, Sultanina Neagra and Sultanina Nera. According to the VIVC catalogue, the parentage is unknown; however, in Wine Grapes it is described as a black-berry mutation of the white variety Sultana. The variety was a crossing partner in the new variety Mechta. It is used as wine grape, table grape and for sultanas. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
